Colin Witcher and Fiona McAddy begin financial investment fraud trial at Southwark

Colin Witcher leading Fiona McAddy, both of Chambers’ Crime and Regulatory Group, represent the former Managing Director of a leading investment advisory company which suffered a high profile collapse as a result of alleged high value mismanaged investments. The MD faces a lengthy indictment arising from his alleged dishonest involvement in the investment of funds outside pre-authorised risk tolerances, investments in conflicting funds, and inducing investors through the use of inflated return projections.

The trial will consider financial investments across jurisdictions, the duties and obligations on financial advisors, and the interplay of criminal, regulatory, and civil liability. The trial, which began with jury selection today at Southwark Crown Court, will last until early February 2023.

Counsel are instructed by Nick Titchener, Director at Lawtons Solicitors.
