Colin Witcher prosecutes health and saftey fatality

Colin Witcher of Chambers’ Crime and Regulatory Team prosecuted the defendant company, represented by King’s Counsel, for a breach of Health and Safety legislation, in circumstances where an employee fell from height and sadly died.

Colin was released from his current long running trial to deal with the sentencing hearing, having been instructed from an early stage in the matter. The defendant company was fined and ordered to pay the full prosecution costs as incurred. Colin was instructed by Jennifer Phillips, Principal Litigation Lawyer of Thanet District Council.

Colin specialises in regulatory and corporate offending, instructed on behalf of both local authorities and various prosecuting agencies and defendant companies and directors in equal measure. Clients value his pragmatic and user friendly approach.
