Maria Karaiskos is Successful in Money Laundering Trial

Maria Karaiskos successfully defends a young woman charged with money laundering at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Maria’s client was one of four defendants who had several thousands of pounds laundered through their bank accounts in June 2018. This money represented the proceeds of criminal conduct as it originated from a sophisticated fraud carried out by rogue builders on an elderly gentleman.

Maria was able to show to the jury that her client was not connected to this fraud and neither did she know or believe that the money entering her bank account was criminal property.

Maria was instructed by Angie Deacon at Lawtons Solicitors.
