Elizabeth Lambert

Called to the Bar in 2001, Elizabeth lambert is a highly experienced criminal barrister with over 20 years’ practice across the criminal justice system.

She specialises in serious and organised crime, fraud and cybercrime, homicide, GBH, and serious sexual offences. She has been recognised in the Legal 500 as a Leading Junior in General Crime.

Elizabeth is known for her meticulous case preparation, clear and strategic advice, and robust courtroom advocacy. She has extensive experience conducting Crown Court trials, appellate work in the Court of Appeal, and complex multi-handed criminal cases. She is also well known for her excellent client care and her ability to manage lay clients even in the most stressful of cases.

In addition to defence work, she has early-career experience prosecuting for the CPS and other agencies, giving her valuable insight into the approach taken by prosecuting authorities. She has also been seconded multiple times to the Serious Fraud Office as disclosure counsel on large-scale fraud investigations, where she honed her invaluable disclosure skills.

Elizabeth is regularly instructed both as both junior and leading counsel and enjoys working collaboratively with legal teams while providing strong leadership in complex matters.

  • R v M - Youth Court (2026)

    Youth accused of serious sexual offences. The case involved complex s.41 applications and other legal arguments.

  • R v H - Croydon Crown Court(2026)

    Conspiracy to defraud the DVLA. Representing the first defendant in a complex conspiracy lasting five weeks.

  • R v D – Inner London Crown Court (2024)

    Represented a defendant charged with possession of a firearm and possession of Class A drugs.

  • R v A – Kingston Crown Court (2024)

    Defended a dance teacher accused of historic sexual abuse in a case involving Section 28 pre-recorded cross-examination procedures.

  • R v P – Wolverhampton Crown Court (2023)

    Represented a man accused of historic sexual abuse dating back approximately 40 years. The case involved complex legal arguments including doli incapax and bad character evidence.

  • R v J – Portsmouth Crown Court (2023)

    Represented a defendant in a money laundering case involving financial investigation evidence.

  • R v RR – Central Criminal Court (2022)

    Case involving allegations of gross negligence manslaughter investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

  • R v B – Swindon Crown Court (2022)

    Three-week trial involving allegations of multiple rapes. The case required detailed analysis of communications data and social media evidence.

  • R v M – Guildford Crown Court (2022)

    Acted in a four-week murder trial.

  • R v S – Reading Crown Court (2021)

    Acted in an eight-week murder trial involving complex factual and evidential issues.

  • R v C – Snaresbrook Crown Court

    Four-week trial involving allegations of rape with extensive forensic evidence, including DNA analysis, blood pattern evidence, CCTV and fingerprint evidence.

  • R v A – Kingston Crown Court (2019)

    Acted as leading counsel in a four-month international revenue fraud trial involving conspiracy to defraud HMRC.
