Caroline Skeet and Emma Richards instructed in Ian Paterson inquests

Church Court Chambers’ Caroline Skeet and Emma Richards are instructed as junior counsel to the inquests into the deaths of patients of former breast surgeon Mr Ian Paterson.

The inquests concern patients treated by Mr Paterson, who was convicted in 2017 of multiple counts of wounding with intent arising from unnecessary surgical procedures carried out in both NHS and private settings. The proceedings are examining the circumstances of a number of patient deaths and the wider clinical and systemic issues surrounding his practice.

They are led by Jonathan Jones KC, Briony Ballard and Scott Matthewson, and are instructed by Higgs LLP solicitors.
