Church Court Chambers ranked as a Leading Set by the Legal 500 UK Guide 2026
We are delighted to announce that Church Court Chambers and 10 of its members have been ranked in The Legal 500 UK Guide 2026.
Chambers are delighted to have been listed as a Leading Set for Crime, with commentators noting that “Church Court Chambers are superb” with “very good clerking” and “very strong membership.”
A number of chambers’ members have also been listed for their expertise in Crime and Sports law.
Both Lewis Power KC and Colin Witcher have both been listed within the prestigious Tier 1 ranking for Crime, Lewis being described by the Guide as “a brilliant strategist. There is no one better with clients and juries.” Colin is described as “an exceptional advocate and a true master of the courtroom. His advocacy is consistently precise, persuasive, and strategically astute.”
Kerim Fuad KC, Michael Mather-Lees KC, Yasin Patel and Michael Polak are all ranked in Tier 3 for Crime. Kerim is noted for specialising in homicide trials, with the Guide noting his recent high-profile case concerning juror verdict error. Michael Mather-Lees KC is commended for being able to “capture the attention of the jury” and being “an effective orator” and Michael Polak is reconised for his “great preparation” in complex matters. Yasin Patel is described as the “go to counsel” for his clients, with “his strength [being] that he never stops working and is constantly striving to achieve the best result.”
Kevin Molloy, George Hepburne Scott and Islam Khan have all been ranked in Tier 4 for Crime. Kevin is described by commentators as “an excellent mind” and a “superb advocate.” Similarly, Islam is commended for his “excellent interpersonal skills” and being “deeply committed to putting his clients’ cases on solid footings in any situation.”
Yasin Patel is also ranked as a Leading Juniors for Sports law following his recent nominations as Sports Junior of the Year by the Legal 500. Commentators commend his “Honesty and integrity” and note that “he always advises the best to a client.”
