Chambers is delighted to have supported the International Bar Association’s annual War Crimes Committee Conference, hosted at Leiden University’s campus in The Hague from 4-5 April 2025.

The event brought together legal professionals, academics, OSINT analysts and law enforcement to discuss the evolving landscape of international criminal law.

This year’s theme, “Law on the Frontlines,” focused on the legal and ethical challenges of investigating and prosecuting war crimes in contemporary conflicts. Topics included impunity and its impact on international norms, the role of digital evidence in documenting atrocities, disinformation, and strategies for post-conflict justice.

Chambers sponsored the conference as part of its growing presence in the field of international law. Elsa Wyllie-Rahmani played a key role in organising the event, overseeing speaker coordination and shaping the program, and she was joined by fellow members Marie-Armance Renaud and Lucia Coerman, both of whom have established practices in international law.

The event offered a timely opportunity for reflection and collaboration among those working in conflict and post-conflict contexts, as legal systems continue to adapt to new forms of warfare and accountability.
