Colin Witcher successfully defends professional footballer in Class A drugs case

Colin Witcher has successfully defended a professional footballer in a case which concerned the supply of Class A drugs, while the athlete was between two professional contracts.
The evidence concerned the collocation of the defendant’s phone, a co-defendant’s phone (who had pleaded guilty) and a known drug line, together with ANPR data. In addition, the prosecution relied upon the seizure of drugs following the defendants purportedly not stopping for police, when they attempted to pull over the defendants’ vehicle.
The defendant vehemently denied the allegations, and was acquitted by the jury within an hour, shortly after a powerful closing speech from Mr Witcher.
Colin Witcher was instructed by Imran Ali of Tuckers Solicitors, Manchester.
