George Hepburne Scott granted permission to appeal in two extradition appeals in one week

In the first of George’s successes, on 11 February 2025 in A.S. v Lithuania, a High Court Judge granted permission to appeal an extradition order made by a District Judge of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in respect of a historical fraud case.
Permission to appeal was granted on two grounds: (1) S.21A proportionality, and (2) Article 8.
Similarly, in W.K. v Poland on 18 February, George achieved the same outcome at the High Court in respect to another historical fraud case. Permission in this instance to appeal was granted on the singular ground of Article 8.
Both cases will now proceed to full substantive appeals before the High Court.
