George Hepburne Scott instructed as Leading Counsel in groundbreaking Algerian Part 2 extradition case

George Hepburne Scott has been instructed as Leading Counsel for the defence in the case of Government of Algeria v R.B.

The case raises multiple complex and substantial areas of human rights and extradition law including prima facie case, extraneous considerations, politically motivated request, and Article 3, Article 6 and Article 8 of the ECHR.

George leads the excellent Georgia Beatty from 5SAH and both counsel are instructed by Kalilou Fadiga of Harding Mitchell. The first tranche of the extradition proceedings shall take place on 23 April 2025.
