Lewis Power KC comments on the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into war crimes committed in the Israel-Hamas conflict, in The Times
Lewis Power KC comments in The Times on the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into war crimes committed in the Israel-Hamas conflict, which has been questioned by Simon Myerson KC, chairman of Leeds Jewish Representative Council, and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Following the displaying of posters at Heathrow airport urging people returning from the region with information to contact the police, Johnson accused Scotland Yard of “politicisation”.
Lewis Power KC commented: “The Met have stated that they are duty bound to investigate war crimes – they have made it abundantly clear that the force has a legal responsibility to help with the investigation, particularly if it involves British subjects.”
Lewis’ comments were published on 05 January 2024.
