Michael Polak addresses the World Uyghur Congress 20th anniversary celebrations

On Saturday 4 May 2024, Michael Polak addressed the meeting of the World Uyghur Congress, held in Munich to celebrate the Congress’ 20th Anniversary.

Michael spoke on a panel on Genocide Prevention: From Awareness to Action, moderated by Hanno Schedler, Genocide Prevention Officer for the Society for Threatened Peoples.

Joining Michael on the panel was Hamid Sabi, Lead Counsel of the Uyghur Tribunal, Laura Harth, Campaign Director, Safeguard Defenders, and Mia Hasenson-Gross, Executive Director of René-Cassin.

Michael discussed the case he has brought on behalf of the World Uyghur Congress and Uyghur Human Rights Project in Argentina for the international crimes committed against the Uyghur people by the Chinese authorities.
