Mohammed Bashir secures discontinuation for his client

Mohammed Bashir has achieved a discontinuation for his client, charged with serious offences of intentional strangulation and assault.

The defendant maintained throughout the proceedings that any contact with the alleged victim had been consensual.

Following detailed submissions and carefully prepared representations regarding failings in the police investigation, and the lack of proper disclosure of phone evidence, the Crown offered no evidence, resulting in a post acquittal restraining order.
