Church Court Chambers door tenant Poul Hauch Fenger has been summoned to appear before the Højesteret – the Supreme Court of Denmark – in a fundamental case about judicial impartiality.

This landmark appointment means that Poul is the only Danish defense lawyer with the right to appear before both the Supreme Court and the International Criminal Court – a milestone for Poul and a true testament to his expertise and dedication to the legal profession.

Commenting on this news, Poul said: “Being summoned to appear before the Højesteret is a bit like being allowed to play tennis on Centre Court or perform on The Royal Ballet and Opera. I have been looking forward to this since I returned to Denmark from the UN and EU diplomacy and became a lawyer.

“I look forward to continuing to work with complex criminal justice issues – nationally and internationally – and contributing to the rule of law wherever I can.”
