Success for Michael Mather-Lees KC as Court of Appeal upholds acquittal

Michael Mather-Lees KC has successfully defended a client charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted wounding and manslaughter in the Court of Appeal.

After a judge at Luton Crown Court accepted a submission of no case to answer on those charges, the prosecution brought a challenge at the appeal Court against the terminating ruling.

However, three senior judges dismissed the appeal and not guilty verdicts were entered on all counts.

The Court’s ruling comes after Michael recently secured acquittals for clients in three other homicide cases, including a client accused of murder after a street fight and a gang stabbing.
