Yasin Patel comments on the rise of “lawfare” within football in the Financial Times

Yasin Patel has provided comment in the Financial Times on the increasing number of legal cases being brought within football, and the impact this is having on the sport’s ecosystem.

With money within football continuously rising year on year, Yasin explained that the sport’s infrastructure has been struggling to keep pace, commenting: “The game has grown so much, but the rules have not kept up.”

He further detailed the impact that recent increased investment in football has had on the game’s regulatory framework, stating: “Those who are investing in football are challenging governing bodies and saying: why can’t we do this?”
