Islam Khan secures unanimous verdicts acquittal for client accused of perverting the course of justice

Islam Khan has secured an acquittal for his client in a case relating to perverting the course of justice by three police officers from Luton constabulary, at Cambridge Crown Court, who were charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Islam persuaded the jury that his client, in particular, lost out to clever colleagues who exploited his weaknesses at work and used it to their advantage.
He robustly argued that any text messages and voice recording indicating an agreement was untenable, and that the Crown had not been able to identify specifically how this led to an agreement to pervert the course of justice for one officer to take speeding points for the other and the other to pay the fine.
The link suggested by the Crown did not stand up to scrutiny to be sure of any guilt. Neither could any inferences or circumstantial evidence rescue the Crown to prove the “series of acts” intending to pervert the course of justice by his client.
Islam’s client was acquitted in 60 minutes.
